Significantly reduce the cost of transport, currently carried out largely by truck, greatly increase exports of phosphate and by-products and reduce the resulting environmental footprint.
Our solution
Delivery and technical assistance (24 months) of 20 new locomotives type EMD GT42AC. With a power of 3250 BHP and equipped with 6 asynchronous traction motors, they will be used to evacuate phosphate from mines in the south of Tunisia (Gafsa / Sfax region).
These locomotives are also, and for the first time in Tunisia, equipped with automatic mixed Willison couplers and UIC tensioning hooks, designed and manufactured in-house by LAF, which will double the traction capacity of wagons and significantly reduce the time required to assemble a train set.
