Line 1 of the Panama Metro

Challenge

Implement and maintain the first line of the Panama Metro, which carries more than 200,000 passengers per day.

Our solution

CIM, in partnership with TSO, supplied and installed the 13.7 km of track from Albrook to Los Andes as well as the depot and maintenance workshop facilities within the GoE group.

CIM also supported the Panamanian Ministry of Education in the construction of a vocational training centre for maintenance trades. Since 2014, TCP Rail, a joint subsidiary of CIM and TSO in Panama, has been maintaining the tracks, catenary and depot equipment of line 1, thus becoming a major player in rail maintenance in this country and for the region.
